Originally shared as a newsletter, this piece is now part of my blog 🙂 After losing most of my posts during an IT outage, I’ve been gradually uploading past newsletters here for those who’d like to enjoy a read.
I recently came across an intriguing article that sparked some thoughts I couldn’t wait to share. It felt like the perfect opportunity for a [blog post].
AI has truly taken on a life of its own, evolving at a pace that feels almost surreal. A recent study revealed an advancement in technology where researchers used a brain scanner to interpret people’s thoughts. ‘An AI-based decoder that can translate brain activity into a continuous stream of text has been developed, in a breakthrough that allows a person’s thoughts to be read non-invasively for the first time.’ The idea of AI reading minds is fascinating— and a little intense!
In the world of sw, AI is being used in other ways that are both practical and impactful. For example, AI tools can assist with content creation, from generating ideas to editing and distributing content. ChatGPT, for example, is helpful for numerous things, like creating social media posts, generating ideas, writing blog posts (;)) and more. There are other tools available as well that can automate work and allow for us to spend more time on what truly matters, like our clients.
But it begs the question— how far is too far? Could AI ever take over completely? Slixa published an insightful article, ‘AI and The Future of Sex Work’, highlighting a fascinating point: if ‘an AI-enabled life-sized sex doll hit the market, it’d probably be pretty expensive […] but we already know that cost isn’t the only driver for clients.’
They’re absolutely right— cost isn’t the most important factor when clients seek a sw. Our industry spans a wide range of rates, from a few hundred to several thousand dollars per hour. What truly sets us apart is the experience and connection we provide— something no AI generated doll could replicate. As I’ve mentioned before, it’s not just about appearances. Clients are drawn to us for the human connection, for satisfying not just physical desires but emotional needs as well. This intangible element of intimacy is something that no amount of advanced technology can replace.
No matter how much AI develops, I don’t think sws are going anywhere. The human connection is, and always will be, irreplaceable.
